I have traded the mighty Nomad on a 1996 BMW R 1100 RS because the Nomad is past it's use by date & my spine can't take much more of it & it's got 173,000 + kms on the clock The BMW has 70,000 easy ks & is immaculate with heated grips, ABS, adjustable screen, Panniers, & Pat is making me a rack for it when I pick it up on tuesday. I'll be riding it to Gundawho

Here's a link to a service manual download, 484 pages, if you haven't already got a copy.

One word of caution from a previous life working on a K100. The 4/5 pin automotive relays that BMW use are Type A whereas the rest of the world use Type B. The difference is the pinout. From personal experience, if you substitute a Type B in the fuel pump relay location, it puts 12volts back into the ECU and destroys it. At $200 - $300 each you soon learn to be very careful.
