    • Well I'm home, riverside, having come down in every sense of the way, yesterday. The snow season was said to be one of the 4 best seasons ever.

It's been great, and I've managed to get home with no active or residual illness, and no injuries to nurse. Lots of unpacking to do.

I was looking for a ride, but its wet today, so it's a good excuse to get all the unpack/storage thing done completely before sticking my toe in the pool of stuff that I can be doing here at home. There be plenty. I'll get some riding done on the weekend, with a school reunion (from 19974) happening about an hour and a half from here. I'll just not drink and commute to the events I want to attend over the couple of days. I'll keep it simple and have a coherent catch up and memories of same. These things have a way of deteriorating into a blur with many lost opportunities and connections missed, or forgotten, or overlooked in the distraction by all the people to touch base with. There are some people who might be there who I might happily re-establish links with. I've done that sort of thing before. It's better this way.

So I'll do all the inside stuff to put the snow season away for another year, then get out in the shed to work on finishing a bench I was in the process of constructing when I got the call. Lots of things to do. This one was going to be for a friend on the hill. I'd had second thoughts about it, but have since found out that he (and the missus) are moving to Tassie, so that seals it. A parting gift. One more thing for them to move in the move. A labour of love for me, and a good excuse to visit once before they go.

      • I took Aunty's new car in for it's 1st service about 6 weeks back.
They wash & service it & just before pick up time, the area got smashed by a storm & I was a drowned rat (no brolly)
        2nd service yesty, same scenario
Went and had coffee with a mate who works nearby, got halfway back to the dealers workshop and down she came again!
Arrived there drowned, even with a brolly this time.
Wet shoes, squelching internally, wet hat, jacket & shorts.....all with a shit small brolly in hand as well
Nice clean car getting pounded by heavy storm and didn't it look like shit by the time I got it back home
Time for a rest back at work today
I just called, to say........go get pharked

Is there a moral to this tale or maybe just a simple punch line?

              • Well I've done nothing today.

                Proud of it.

I have big plans though. Wash the car. (general filth) Wash the bike (accumulated dust, no real filth). I'll go for a short ride today. I've got some travelling to do tomorrow on the bike. Nowhere very far (couple of hours each way).

                • Got my Virago registered yesterday. I have only ridden it 2-3 times since last rego
It desperately needs a service which I will book for next week.

                      • Spent a lovely day with my daughter, SIL, and two granddaughters. They came here, stayed overnight. Caravanners. Self contained. Nothing to organise or re-arrange here. Too easy.

Shame I wasn't neck deep in some project requiring a little finesse or muscle. SIL would be right handy for that sort of thing.
