  • Hit and run: Father could have his leg amputated after Peakhurst crash

A Sydney father is facing the prospect of losing his leg after a car crashed into his motorbike in an alleged hit-and-run in south-western Sydney.

The 38-year-old motorcyclist and his 26-year-old passenger were thrown off their motorcycle when hit by a car while driving along Forest Road in Peakhurst in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old from Sans Souci, allegedly fled the scene without offering assistance.

She was arrested several hours later at a home on MacDonald Street, Sans Souci.

She was charged with numerous offences including two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

The young woman was granted bail by a judge after briefly appearing in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday morning.

Tony Nissirios and his girlfriend Samantha Sedrak both suffered multiple fractures in the accident and were taken to St George Hospital where they remain in stable conditions.
    Good spirits

Outside court, Nissirios' father John told 7NEWS Sydney his son is in good spirits despite his injuries.

"I saw his leg, that wasn't doing real well, but he seemed to be doing all right anyway," John Nissirios said.

"But after seeing him, at least you know he's alive, and that's the main thing."

Nissirios says he never liked the idea of his son riding a motorcycle and recently warned him of the dangers.

"Tony's a terrific rider but I've always said to him, 'you might be a good ride but it's the next person that you don't know what they're going to do'," Nissirios said.

Best wishes to Tony and Samantha. It sounds like a long recovery even if he doesn't lose his leg.
How does the driver get bail when she already had 2 cases of fail to appear in court?
